How USATestprep Developed Its Mississippi SATP Review

Mississippi Subject Area Testing Program (SATP)
Beginning with the graduating class of 2003, in order to receive a standard high school diploma, all Mississippi students must pass all the Algebra I, Biology I, US History since 1877, and English II sections of the Mississippi Subject Area Testing Program (SATP) and meet all other district and state requirements.  All test items are aligned to the content of these courses and have been developed by the Mississippi Department of Education in conjunction with a testing company.  Students are given up to five opportunities per year, both pencil-and-paper and on-line, to retake the tests. If a student fails a subject area test twice, he or she can appeal for a substitute evaluation, which relies on other evidence such as passing grades in the course to demonstrate mastery of the subject.
