Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT)
Since 1991, all high school students in the state of Georgia are required by the Department of Education (DOE) to take and pass comprehensive tests in Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, and English. If students do not pass all four of these tests, they may only receive a Certificate of Performance, not a High School Graduation Diploma. Special Education students may receive a Special Education Diploma without passing the tests. The writing test is typically given in the fall and the four subject tests in the spring of a student’s junior year. Students have up to five opportunities to pass these tests. The content of these tests is chosen by the Georgia educators based on standards set forth in the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) and Quality Core Curriculum (QCC). The tests cover a sample of knowledge and skills that constitute a complete high school education. High school graduates are expected to have mastered much more than is covered on the test.

End of Course Test (EOCT)
Since 2000, all high school students in the state of Georgia are required by the Department of Education (DOE) to take end-of-course assessments in grades nine through twelve for Algebra I, Geometry, United States History, Economics (to include business and free enterprise), Biology, Physical Science, Ninth Grade Literature and Composition and American Literature and Composition. To receive credit for these courses, the score received for the required EOCT is to be included as 15% of the overall grade for the course. Tests are typically given at two different times during the year, in December, at the end of the fall term, and in May, at the end of the spring term. Only the information, content, and skills outlined in the GPS or QCC are tested in the EOCT. The domains in the GPS and QCC offer general descriptions of the content students are expected to master in each subject.

USATestprep, Inc. has carefully researched all of the standards set forth in the GA GPS and QCC’s and has developed questions and answers based on these standards. There is no relationship (real or implied) between the Georgia Department of Education and USATestprep, Inc. It is our intent that the content of our web page will closely match the test-taking experience. However, there is no guarantee of content overlap as every year the DOE makes new tests, and every year the USATestprep, Inc. library of questions grows. It is simply our desire that through your experiences on this website, you may become more comfortable with the content and gain the knowledge necessary to successfully complete whatever the Department of Education puts on the Georgia High School Graduation Test and EOCT.
